St. Joseph has won five straight games at home, while Hartford has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Lancers will welcome the Orioles at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Joseph 3.3, Hartford 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
St. Joseph lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Shoreland Lutheran, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Lancers put the hurt on the Pacers with a sharp 10-2 victory on Thursday. Considering the Lancers have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Patrick Davidson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Mason Ballard was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Four must be Hartford's lucky number: they beat Grafton with that score not once but twice on Saturday. The Orioles walked away with a 4-1 win over the Black Hawks. The Orioles haven't had any issues with the Black Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Jack Perkowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kaiden Romens, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Adian Kolb, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
St. Joseph is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Hartford, their victory bumped their record up to 17-6.
Both St. Joseph and Hartford just can't seem to miss. The Lancers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Hartford struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.6 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Joseph skirted past Hartford 10-9 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Orioles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
