Two dominant guards in Cameron Crowe and Bryson Kearney are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Strawberry Crest Chargers are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Riverview Sharks on February 6th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Florida (Strawberry Crest is ranked 692nd, while the Sharks are ranked 667th).
Last Thursday, Strawberry Crest was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 56-52 to the Indians.
Strawberry Crest's defeat came about despite a quality game from Crowe, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayson Lewis, who scored 13 points.
Even though they lost, Strawberry Crest were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. This was only their 14th loss (out of 17 games) when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, Riverview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight defeat. They fell to Steinbrenner 69-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Strawberry Crest has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season. As for Riverview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
Strawberry Crest ended up a good deal behind the Sharks when the teams last played back in December of 2023, losing 68-53. Can Strawberry Crest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
