Godley entered their tilt with Ferris on Friday with seven consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Ferris Yellowjackets 20-1. Considering the Wildcats have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Grayson Crane looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Braxton Spohn was a standout: he scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 14 games. Jaxon Daily was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Godley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ferris only posted an OBP of .381.

Godley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Ferris, they now have a losing record of 5-6-3.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Godley Wildcats challenge Glen Rose Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Glen Rose 3.6, Godley 2.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ferris, they will host Godley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
