Greenfield/Northwestern was led to victory by Garrett Costello and Dylan Pembrook. Costello scored 16 points along with four steals, while Pembrook scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pembrook has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Talon Albrecht, who scored 13 points.
The win makes it two in a row for Greenfield/Northwestern and bumps their season record up to 11-9. As for East Alton-Wood River, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season.
Greenfield/Northwestern won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greenview at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th. Greenview is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for East Alton-Wood River, East Alton-Wood River and Gillespie will face off at 7:30 a.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gillespie has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
