Clearwater is 9-1 against Seminole since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Clearwater Tornadoes will square off against the Seminole Warhawks at TBD. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Clearwater stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 58-13 victory over Northeast. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.
It was another big night for Pink Sturdivant, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Quenya Turner, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Seminole walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 50-12 win over the Warriors at home. Seminole pushed the score to 42-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Osceola had little chance of recovering from.
Laney Pearson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Seminole's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Swartz, who scored ten points along with three blocks.
Clearwater's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Seminole, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-12 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Clearwater hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 58.2 points per game. It's a different story for Seminole, though, as they've been averaging only 38.3 points per game. The only thing between Clearwater and another offensive beatdown is Seminole. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Everything came up roses for Clearwater against Seminole in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 64-27 victory. With Clearwater ahead 31-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
