The Fultondale Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Wenonah 54-15. Fultondale was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-6.
Samarian Franklin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wenonah, scoring 27 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. The match was Franklin's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakerria Ringstaff, who scored two points along with seven assists and seven rebounds.
Fultondale's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-11. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.8 points per game. As for Wenonah, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-4.
Fultondale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Carver Birmingham at 2:30 p.m. on December 21st. Carver Birmingham has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14. Wenonah and Woodlawn will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Woodlawn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 218th, while Wenonah is ranked 45th).
