It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Bell County HomeSchool Angels ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Johnson County Sports Association 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Johnson County Sports Association lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan Green, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tucker Grayson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Johnson County Sports Association were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
The victory got Bell County HomeSchool back to even at 1-1. As for Johnson County Sports Association, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bell County HomeSchool will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Valor Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 6, 2024. Johnson County Sports Association and Stephenville FAITH will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Stephenville FAITH is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
