The Lakeview Bulldogs were the 35-27 winner over the Newton Falls Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Lakeview took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newton Falls on Thursday. Lakeview has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Lakeview saw an underclassman step up: Annabelle Humphrey scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Humphrey scored 15 or more points.
Lakeview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Newton Falls, their win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeview will take on Girard at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Newton Falls will finish 2023 at home by hosting Lowellville at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lowellville is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
