The Tinora Rams will challenge the Hilltop Cadets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Tinora is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Tinora came up short against Paulding on Friday, falling 8-2.
Madison Spangler made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hilltop). They never let Gorham Fayette get on the board and left with a 30-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Cadets have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Giada Rising made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with five runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sophia Crossgrove was a standout: she got on base in five of her six plate appearances with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kelsy Connolly, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with four runs and four RBI.
Hilltop was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Hilltop's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Tinora, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Tinora hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hilltop struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Tinora was able to grind out a solid win over Hilltop when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 4-0. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cadets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
