Hugoton has won three straight games at home, while Cimarron has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Eagles will welcome the Bluejays at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Hugoton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Lakin.
Meanwhile, Cimarron got themselves on the board against Lakin on Monday, but Lakin never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Broncs with a sharp 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bluejays, who have now won nine contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Not much got past Jesus Martinez, who gave up just two hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Lakin off the board. Martinez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Charles, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Ryder Gordon was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cimarron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakin only managed two.
Cimarron's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Hugoton, their win bumped their record up to 8-12.
Hugoton might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Cimarron when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
