Softball Recap: Blaine Has No Trouble Against Duluth East

Blaine's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Duluth East Greyhounds with a sharp 12-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bengals in their matchups with the Greyhounds: they've now won six in a row.

Paige Dahlman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Marin Aman was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ada Busch, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Blaine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Blaine back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Blaine will be playing at home against Centennial at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Bengals' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Duluth East, they will venture away from home to square off against Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
