Hagen Hughes Delivers Electric Performance Vs Fossil Ridge
Azle picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Hagen Hughes. Hughes was dynamite, rushing for 222 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 57 receiving yards. His longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Azle pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Hughes and Azle will face off against Ryan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gavin Beard Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Aledo got the W thanks in part to Gavin Beard playing the best football he has all season. Beard threw for 290 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.2 passing touchdowns per game. What's more, he also racked up ten rushing yards, the mosthe's had since back in September of 2023.
The victory (which was Aledo's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1. Beard and Aledo will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Richland at 7:00 p.m. on October 25th.

Derrek Vowell Delivers Best Performance of Season
Derrek Vowell produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Azle to the win on Friday. Vowell threw for 269 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.6% of his passes.
For the year, Vowell has thrown 15 touchdowns (and and only 2 picks) while averaging 245.7 passing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had six passing touchdowns.

Fossil Ridge is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. Lockhart and Fossil Ridge will head out to face off against Denton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Aiden Mackey produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Azle to the win on Friday. Mackey picked up 114 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 50 yards.
For the season, Mackey has caught 10 touchdowns while averaging 70.5 receiving yards per game.
