On Tuesday, the Lincoln County Lions faced the Whitefish Bulldogs in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Lincoln County fell 69-59 to Whitefish. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Thursday (55), Lincoln County still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Lincoln County still got an impressive performance from Caden Vaughn, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Vaughn scored 15 or more points. Parker Bates was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Whitefish, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln County will face off against Superior at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitefish will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Browning at 5:30 p.m. on January 6, 2024.
