The Moberly Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smith-Cotton. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Moberly still got an impressive performance from Mason Bivins, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Rucker, who scored 11 points.
Moberly's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Smith-Cotton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-19.
Moberly will take on Marshall at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Marshall's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests. As for Smith-Cotton, they will head out on the road to challenge Helias at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Heliaspresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Smith-Cotton in Missouri (Helias is ranked 26th, while Smith-Cotton is ranked 400th).
