Jefferson's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Washington Patriots with a sharp 3-0 win. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

One reason for the win was Jefferson's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-15.

Sarah Diaz paced Jefferson's offense, picking up nine kills. Diaz got some help from Aven Thorn and her nine assists. Thorn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

The win got Jefferson back to even at 1-1. As for Washington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Jefferson will take on rival Spring Mills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Washington is set to face off against their familiar foe Musselman at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
