It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Adams Central had no problem doing just that  on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Whitko Wildcats as they made off with  a  17-7 win. The Flying Jets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  runs they've scored all season.
 Cade Van De Weg was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He also  tossed  no  earned runs, which is notable because Adams Central is 9-2 when he allows at  most  one  earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Van De Weg was also big at the plate,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in April.
 In other batting news,  Carson Ross was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  two  hits gave  him a new career-high.  Jacob Miller was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Adams Central was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive  contests.
Adams Central is  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Whitko, they moved to 14-14 with that  defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
 Looking ahead, Adams Central will challenge Bluffton at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Flying Jets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7  runs per game this season. Whitko does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
