The Chapin Huskies are taking a road trip to take on the Cooper Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Chapin's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
Chapin proved they can win big back in October (they won by 70) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Hanks 52-50. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Daveon Singleton
| 11/07/25 @ Hanks | 231 |
| 10/17/25 @ Canutillo | 214 |

| 09/12/25 vs Horizon | 169 |
| 11/15/24 vs Memorial | 165 |
It was another big night for Daveon Singleton, who rushed for 231 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also threw for 130 yards and one TD. Those 231 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Joshua Martel was another key player, rushing for 126 yards and one score on only seven carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Chapin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 491 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 216 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.
Chapin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. Leaf Dewitt picked up that interception and then proceeded to rub salt in the wound by taking it back the other way for a touchdown. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cooper suffered their biggest loss since September 5th last Thursday. They lost 52-28 to Palo Duro. Despite 107 more yards than the Dons, the Cougars couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Chapin will have to contain Peyton Ewing as he made an impact in Cooper's last game. He rushed for 153 yards and one touchdown. With that strong performance, Ewing is now averaging an impressive 104.8 rushing yards per game.
Chapin's record is now 7-3. As for Cooper, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Chapin has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 280.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cooper struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 284.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Chapin lost to Cooper on the road by a decisive 42-27 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Thankfully for the Huskies, Daniel Bray (who rushed for 253 yards and three TDs while picking up 12.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
