Shekinah Christian hasn't had much luck against Delaware Christian recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Flames will look to defend their home field against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Shekinah Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.8 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Shekinah Christian came up short against Mt. Gilead and fell 10-6. The Flames have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Aiden Nofziger put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Nofziger was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, Alex Bauermeister and Camden Miller did some serious damage despite the final result: Bauermeister scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Miller scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Bauermeister is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brayden DiCarro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Delaware Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Madison Christian, falling 15-5.
Caden Beck made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
Shekinah Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Delaware Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Delaware Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Shekinah Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .405. It's a different story for Delaware Christian, though, as they've only averaged .198. Will they be able to contain Shekinah Christian's hitters?
Shekinah Christian couldn't quite finish off Delaware Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Flames avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
