Baseball Recap: Whitefield Academy Has No Trouble Against Cornerstone Christian Academy

While Whitefield Academy put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Cornerstone Christian Academy. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 12-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by ten runs or more this season.

Andrew Beickman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Whitefield Academy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Dylan Stockton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. He has become a key player for Whitefield Academy: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bladen Finney, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Whitefield Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Whitefield Academy will square off against Jeffersontown at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will take on Heritage Academy on Saturday.
