Tunkhannock is a perfect 10-0 against Crestwood since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Comets at 4:30 p.m. Tunkhannock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Crestwood will be up against a hot Tunkhannock squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Tigers put the hurt on Wyoming Valley West with a sharp 11-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
McKenzie Hannon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Addisyn Waterman was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Taryn Newswanger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Tunkhannock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wyoming Valley West only posted a batting average of .263.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 16 runs the game before, Crestwood was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They fell just short of Dallas by a score of 2-1. The matchup marked the Comets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Brooke Lenahan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Jorja Snyder was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.
Crestwood's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Tunkhannock, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1.
Crestwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tunkhannock has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Crestwood, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Tunkhannock's sizable advantage in that area, the Comets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Tunkhannock took their win against Crestwood in their previous matchup on April 2nd by a conclusive 16-8 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
