The Taylor Ducks can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Travis by a score of 73-64. The victory was just what Taylor needed coming off of a 86-47 loss in their prior game.
Leading Taylor to victory were Treos Richardson and TJ Whybrew. Richardson scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Whybrew scored 16 points along with six assists. Those six assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Laurence, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Taylor's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Travis, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taylor will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against McCallum at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in McCallum's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games. As for Travis, they will head out on the road to face off against Northeast Early College at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
