Dixie has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Cedar Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dixie has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 777 points over their last 11 matchups.
Dixie posted their biggest win since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They breezed by Desert Hills at home to the tune of 78-47. Given Dixie's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while Desert Hills is ranked 44th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Logan Weidauer and Breckon Robinson were among the main playmakers for Dixie as the former dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds and the latter scored 30 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Robinson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kyle Lemke, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Cedar's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 67-55 to Pine View. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Dixie's victory was their 15th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.9 points per game. As for Cedar, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Dixie didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Cedar in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 72-66 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dixie since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
