Basketball Recap: Crosby Drops Highest Score of Season Against Sweeny

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crosby). They blew past the Sweeny Bulldogs 79-20 on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crosby to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamaya Clark, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 22 rebounds. What's more, Clark also racked up seven steals, the most she's had since back in January. Katie Daniels was another key player, going 6 for 14 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight boards and six steals.

Sweeny's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cassidy Cochran, who posted five points.

Crosby's record now sits at 5-8. As for Sweeny, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fort Bend Marshall the next time they take the court. Crosby will head out to face Fort Bend Marshall at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Sweeny will head out to face them at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
