With a playoff win on the line, Andrew Jackson Academy rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They beat the Oakbrook Prep Knights by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Jack Walling made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden McClung, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Landon Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Andrew Jackson Academy's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Oakbrook Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-6-1.
