The Westside Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 93-30 victory over Pickens at home. That looming 93-30 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Westside yet this season.
Zeke Marshall was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Jakylan Brown was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Pickens still got an impressive performance from Eli Doty, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Pickens struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Westside pulled down 14 offensive rebounds.
The victory got Westside back to even at 8-8. As for Pickens, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside will challenge Easley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Easley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Pickens, they will head out on the road to face off against Berea at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Berea is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
