Cooter has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Southland Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cooter has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 316 points over their last four matchups.
Cooter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 52 points or more this season. They took their match at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 82-30 victory over Northeast Arkansas Christian Home Educators.
Cooter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Banks led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. The contest was Banks' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Caleb Gunnels was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southland couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Clarkton on Tuesday, falling 71-38.
Cooter's victory bumped their season record to 4-0 while Northeast Arkansas Christian Home Educators' defeat dropped theirs to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Cooter against Southland when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 83-22 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cooter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
