Baseball Recap: Christian School of York Victorious

With a playoff win on the line, Christian School of York rose to the challenge on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers. This was a revenge game for Christian School of York: when they faced off against Mount Calvary Christian back in April, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Noah Cunningham made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Maverick Browand was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Aidan Ehrhart was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Christian School of York is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Mount Calvary Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-5.

Christian School of York does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Calvary Christian, they will challenge High Point Baptist Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
