Winning is just a little bit easier when you make six more threes than your opponent, a fact the Cloverleaf Colts proved on Thursday. They really took it to Coventry for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-35 victory at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Cloverleaf.
Leading Cloverleaf to victory were Saige Foky and Evie Barth. Foky scored 20 points along with two steals, while Barth scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Foky is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for four games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Seiwerth, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Coventry lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aunna Coteat. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Burkhart, who scored two points along with four steals.
Cloverleaf's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Coventry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.
Cloverleaf will head out on the road to challenge Field at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Field is coming into the game with three straight defeats at home, so Cloverleaf is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Coventry will take on Tuslaw at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tuslaw is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 53.1 points per game this season.
