Seguin entered their tilt with Weimar on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 58-47 victory over the Weimar Wildcats. That's more bragging rights for the Matadors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Seguin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jazlyn Gil out in front who went 7 for 14 on her way to 17 points and seven steals. Gil is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Faith Franklin was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to eight assists and five boards.

Seguin was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.1.

Seguin pushed their record up to 11-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Weimar, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.

Seguin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-35 defeat against La Grange on the 27th. As for Weimar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bloomington at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
