Basketball Game Preview: East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers vs. Marshall Christian Academy Guardians

The East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers will venture away from home to square off against the Marshall Christian Academy Guardians at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Texas Homeschool Sports knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Marshall Christian Academy likes a good challenge.

East Texas Homeschool Sports is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Saturday. They fell just short of Hawkins by a score of 67-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (58), the Chargers still had to take the loss.

East Texas Homeschool Sports might have lost, but man, Will Mason was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten boards. Mason's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Chris Mason was another key player, putting up 16 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, East Texas Homeschool Sports was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hawkins only racked up seven assists.

Meanwhile, Marshall Christian Academy had to suffer through a 90-63 loss at the hands of Liberty-Eylau. The loss continues a trend for the Guardians in their matchups with the Leopards: they've now lost three in a row.

Marshall Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, they moved to 13-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

East Texas Homeschool Sports suffered a grim 69-46 defeat to Marshall Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February. Can East Texas Homeschool Sports avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
