The Alchesay Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Thatcher Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Alchesay has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 9.
On Saturday, Alchesay was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-53 to the Sand Devils. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alchesay in their matchups with the Sand Devils: they've now lost six in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Brent Aday, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Chauncey Newhall was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Thatcher's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Empire. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Alchesay's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-19. As for Thatcher, their loss dropped their record down to 15-7.
Alchesay came up short against the Eagles in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 76-64. Can Alchesay avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
