In what's become a running theme this season, the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Wawasee with a sharp 52-31 win. Winning may never get old, but Tippecanoe Valley sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Leading Tippecanoe Valley to victory were Chesnee Miller and Ava Egolf. Miller scored 14 points along with five steals, while Egolf scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Egolf has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gaby Gonzalez, who scored no points along with six steals.
Tippecanoe Valley pushed their record up to 17-3 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Wawasee, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season.
Tippecanoe Valley will head out on the road to challenge Manchester at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Manchester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 42nd). As for Wawasee, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Whitko at 7:45 p.m. Whitko will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
