Dover extended their losing streak to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 2-15. They came up short against the Eastern York Golden Knights, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 back in April.
Dover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Ferguson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
As for Eastern York, their win bumped their record up to 14-5. The result was nothing new for the Golden Knights, who have now won six contests by six runs or more so far this season.
On Eastern York's side, Mathew Vitale made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Vitale has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Eastern York got a great performance from Logan Howard as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Howard has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Eastern York let Everett Dietz and Quinn Bramble run wild. Dietz went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Bramble went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most hits Dietz has posted since back in March of 2025. Blake Boyd was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Dover will venture away from home to take on Hanover at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastern York, they will challenge Solanco at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
