Okawville is 7-0 against the Yellow Jackets since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Okawville Rockets are on the road again and plays the New Athens Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
Last Friday, Okawville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-52 to the Bulldogs.
Meanwhile, New Athens had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Dupo 57-28 at home on Friday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-12.
Okawville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for New Athens, their victory bumped their record up to 11-13.
Okawville was able to grind out a solid win over the Yellow Jackets in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 56-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Okawville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
