The Mount Airy Granite Bears had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-0 win over Mitchell. The victory was just business as usual for Mount Airy, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Mount Airy found their leader in underclassman Taeshon Martin, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also picked up 59 receiving yards. Tyler Mason was another key contributor, rushing for 149 yards on only 15 carries.
Mount Airy's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 50.73 points. As for Mitchell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
Mount Airy will stay at home for another week and welcome Murphy at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Murphy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Mitchell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
