The Southeast Alamance Stallions just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the North Moore Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Southeast Alamance is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than North Moore in North Carolina (Southeast Alamance is ranked 77th, while North Moore is ranked 381st).
After a string of six wins, Southeast Alamance's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a hard 44-29 fall against Seaforth. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southeast Alamance has scored all season.
Southeast Alamance's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Natalie Lopez, who scored 11 points, and Shaniya Paylor who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Clara LaChapelle was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
North Moore can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Cummings by a score of 44-36. The win was just what North Moore needed coming off of a 61-12 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Calissa Clendenin, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hannah Hunt, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Southeast Alamance's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for North Moore, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Friday's game is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Southeast Alamance have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.4 rebounds per game. However, it's not like North Moore struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Southeast Alamance against North Moore in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 56-16 victory. With Southeast Alamance ahead 41-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
