After losing to the North Callaway Thunderbirds the last time they met, the New Bloomfield Wildcats decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. New Bloomfield walked away with a 56-48 win over North Callaway on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for New Bloomfield.
New Bloomfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jacob Fuhriman out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Fuhriman hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Fuhriman, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, North Callaway still got an impressive performance from Isiah Craighead, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Craighead's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Clayton Moore was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
New Bloomfield's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for North Callaway, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
New Bloomfield will head out on the road to face off against Hermann at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hermann presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Bloomfield in Missouri (Hermann is ranked 122nd, while New Bloomfield is ranked 359th). As for North Callaway, they will take on Eldon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
