Basketball Recap: Panther Creek Snags Eighth Victory in Last Nine Games

Panther Creek had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Green Hope on Tuesday. The Panther Creek Catamounts were the clear victor by a 64-43 margin over the Green Hope Falcons. The Catamounts pushed the score to 56-32 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Panther Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lance Simpkins, who posted 13 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Camden Hill, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Panther Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kody Frey, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Knox Frey, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points.

Panther Creek is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Green Hope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Panther Creek will venture away from home to face off against Apex Friendship at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Panther Creek comes in on five and Apex Friendship on three.
