She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Mary Lombardi was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Abby Williams was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Holy Redeemer was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .371 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Lake-Lehman hit Wyoming Area with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Knights, falling 9-1. Wyoming Area saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marissa Giardina, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Holy Redeemer's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wyoming Area, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
Holy Redeemer's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Royals have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Wyoming Area, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Holy Redeemer continue to outrun the ball?
Holy Redeemer couldn't quite finish off Wyoming Area in their previous matchup back in April and fell 8-6. Can the Royals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
