Addison Petty was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Villano, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
University Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Colusa had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the RedHawks have posted since March 25th.
Ava Garcia spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Colusa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Nair, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
University Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-11-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Colusa, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.
Colusa's pitching crew better be locked in on Saturday. University Prep hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game.
