Even though The Dekaney Wildcats have not done well against the Spring Lions recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Dekaney took down Spring 21-7. Dekaney pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit Spring cut but never quite recovered from.
Dekaney got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Quinten Foster out in front who threw for 259 yards and a touchdown on only 19 passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Nicholas Townsend also helped out as he racked up 104 receiving yards.
Dekaney's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.8 points per game. As for Spring, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4.
Dekaney will take on MacArthur at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. MacArthur will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 863rd, while Dekaney is ranked 211th). As for Spring, they will head out on the road to face off against Nimitz at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nimitz will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
