Bourgade Catholic was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Fountain Hills apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why Bourgade Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Juliet Botiller. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 64.1% of Bourgade Catholic's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nizhoni Rainbolt, who scored six points.
Fountain Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alicia Ibarra, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Seilah Smith, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Bourgade Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Fountain Hills, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bourgade Catholic will take on Wickenburg at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wickenburg is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Fountain Hills, they will play host again and welcome Chino Valley, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chino Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Fountain Hills is ranked 65th).
