Softball Recap: Huntingtown Wins Going Away Against Lackey

While Huntingtown put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Lackey. The Hurricanes were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Chargers. Fans of the Hurricanes have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Jordyn Greever made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Madisyn Williamson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and five RBI. Kayla Ripple was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Huntingtown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters every time they've taken the field this season.

Huntingtown's record is now 5-0. As for Lackey, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Huntingtown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 21-0 victory against Thomas Stone on the 4th. As for Lackey, they have also already played their next match, a 17-1 defeat against Northern on the 4th.
