The Leake Academy Rebels have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 23 points or more this season. They blew past Desoto County Academy 70-39 on the road. The score was close at the half, but Leake Academy pulled away in the second half with 46 points.
Leake Academy's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jenna Allen, who scored 19 points. Allen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marleigh Myers, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Leake Academy and bumps their season record up to 15-3. As for Desoto County Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Leake Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. Joseph Catholic at 2:30 p.m. on December 20th. St. Joseph Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Leake Academy is ranked tenth). Desoto County Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
