Greenon will head out to face off against Legacy Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenon has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 23.
Greenon couldn't beat Cedarville on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Knights fell just short of the Indians by a score of 5-4.
Greenon saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Bendall, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy Christian Academy). They were the clear victors by a 17-4 margin over Yellow Springs on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
Jacob Thompson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Justin Harphant was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alex Tooker, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Legacy Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Legacy Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Greenon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
