Southwest owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They came out on top against the Southside Cardinals by a score of 5-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Dragons.

Romeo Castillo was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 13-4-1. As for Southside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southwest will take on rival South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 3.2, the Bobcats 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Southside is set to face off against their familiar foe Jay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
