Basketball Recap: Littleton Comes Up Short

Littleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 41-30 to the Golden Demons. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Demons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Littleton still got an impressive performance from Emma Bird, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Bird is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played. Lena Drakos was another key player, putting up seven points.

Golden's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Freya Wellman, who posted nine points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Bates, who had eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Littleton's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Golden, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

Littleton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-16 victory against Wheat Ridge on the 1st. As for Golden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-25 win against Conifer on the 31st.
