After a string of nine wins, the Oak Lawn Spartans's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 49-42 to Stagg. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Oak Lawn has scored all season.
Donte Montgomery and Corey Lee certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Montgomery scored 17 points along with four steals, while Lee scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The match was Montgomery's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Oak Lawn struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Oak Lawn's loss dropped their record down to 9-1. As for Stagg, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Lawn will be home for the holidays to greet Sandburg at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandburg has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 544 points over their last eight games.
