On Saturday, Bohemia Manor needed a bit of extra time to put away Smyrna. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Smyrna 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Bohemia Manor has posted since March 26th.
Lyla Wescoat (2027) was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched eight innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Regan Yatsko (2028), who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Patterson Mill entered their tilt with Century on Wednesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They blew past the Knights 11-1. Patterson Mill might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Amanda Redmiles tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk).
On the hitting side, Audrey March was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Ellie Malenfant also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Patterson Mill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
Bohemia Manor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Patterson Mill, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Bohemia Manor suffered a grim 9-2 defeat to Patterson Mill in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
