It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Perryton Rangers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 58-27 victory over Fort Stockton. The victory was just what Perryton needed coming off of a 56-28 loss in their prior game.
Perryton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cooper Schilling out in front who threw for 462 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 77.5% of his passes. Julian Cervantes was another key contributor, picking up 179 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Fort Stockton still got an impressive performance from Corbin Luna, who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.0 yards per carry.
Perryton's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Fort Stockton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Perryton is on the road again on Friday and play against Glen Rose at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Glen Rose will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Fort Stockton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
